I'm back ! :bounce1

Ok so never really been away, just occasionaly lurking.

Sold my 1100GS about 4 years ago, always thought about getting another, and did last night.
A 1150GS single spark. Bought from Neil who is a forum member, he did tell me his user name, but my memory isnt what it used to be :rob

Sad too see Den has left, for it was he that I bought my 1100GS from many years ago.

I did not realise Den had left, that is a shame, but there are lots of people who have left and this place carries on regardless. Good luck with the bike Stef and good luck to Den if he still looks in here.

Hi Stef,
Welcome back:thumb Nice 1150 - and in the best colour too:rolleyes:

Den is still a forum subscriber but he's not on here so often nowadays - like many others you probably remember?

Cheers..................Grizzly:beerjug:

Cheers guys :beerjug:

Grizzly, the GS I just bought has an old Garmin on it that claims "Grizzly on tour" when it boots up me thinks it once belonged to you :D

I would look in now and again, after I sold my last GS. Only thing was every time I did I would get the notion for another one !
Still the bestest forum ever for not only BeeMmmWubblu but one of the best for biking knowledge, supprising considering its full off tossers !:P

Oops!

Hey Stef your right:eek: - that's maybe my Wunderlich screen as well - and my rear/pillion seat:thumb

Sold a few bits to a tosser from Ayrshire early last year - he posted an ad for bits on here. He'd bought the bike to tidy up I think?
His projects seem to get finished quicker than mine! Think he had a WC GS as well?

The pillion seat had been sitting in the garage for a few years so I sold it to him, never thought I'd need it - then in September while touring in the Rockies a feckin young black bear decided to play on the GS at night - and tore the back seat:eek: - so had to buy a replacement seat for twice the price of the one on your bike:(

The "welcome" message on the Garmin can be changed in settings by the way - "Stef on Tour" perhaps:thumb

Thats the bike, Grizzly, Wunderlich and front seats either repadded or a gel seat. Having issues with the seat lock, don't think its the seat looks as if the lock mechanism is too far forward, cant see how thats possible. Need to strip out the tool tray and have a look.

Seller was indeed from Ayrshire ,West Kilbride and aye he has a WC, more spaceship than proper GS
Bikes been laid up for 5 years, Neil bought it as a project sorted it out in a few months, old bus rides well very smooth at lower speeds.
I need to sorce a y-piece and end can to let it breath some.

Stevie,
Glad the bikes going okay, yes Grizzly supplied me with some great spares.
I was a bit embarrassed when I read that the bear attacked his seat, which he had sold me....oh well.
Got the majority of spares to complete the project from this forum, superb result and from some decent fellas.
Hope you get the exhaust system sorted out to your satisfaction.
Safe riding.
Neil.

To be fair Neil, the bear didn't "attack" the seat - more a case of a series of puncture marks in a claw-shaped arc - I think he actually quite liked the bike and was using the pillion seat as a paw hold while climbing on and off:D
We found out later, on Booking.com reviews, that other guests had gone down to the breakfast room for their self-service breakfast to find the room already occupied by a black bear:eek:

Cheers...................Grizzly:beerjug:

Took the old girl out for a longer run today. Up into Argyll, rained most of th time and there was a fair amount of traffic about, but I had a grin on my face the whole time :D

Snap! I have one of those, same colour. Mine isn't in the prettiest condition - spent too many years, unloved, languishing in a damp garage - but it doesn't seem to have suffered, mechanically-speaking. I bought mine in 2010 with less than 10k on the clock. It goes like a dream and has just had a clean bill of health from Kearys in Cork ... and it's going to China this summer! :D
