Beach racing at Mablethorpe on 25th January

Sand Racing -- is it HP2 friendley

I have always thought I would like a spin
would they let the hP2 in

pg

I dont see why not:D I'm sure their regs are on their site somewhere.
So we may see you there sometime?
ps it's not quite Weston or Le Tuoquet though:D
Looks like you'd be in the unlimited morocross class

Might just be able to fit it in

I was thinking of going over to the Classic bike show in Telford
and stick the bike in the van chalk up another event
will try and get some more info , I know a bloke who used a Cutdown R80rt on the sand and had good fun .... just make sure there is a pressure washer nearby

there was a write up in ride/ TWO a couple of years ago about the race, and i think they took a 1200 gsa and had a go, or was it a hp2?? im going to go have a look.

anyhoo, i dont think they will allow you to race, unless you remove your front brake, possible short track rules i think,

double anyhoo, i think i may come over and have a look/ laugh if im not working.

had a look through old mags and found it

performance bike (pb) july 2006, getting away with it issue

they took a hp2 to mablethorpe, and one of the racers had a blast , tailsliding up to 70mph, but the rules look like its a no front brake run.

looks like a right blast, on the right machine:green gri

cut out switch

it is pissing down with rain here now, and it does not look so inviting
I must try and locate some lanyard switch's like they use on Jet ski's
I think they are needed

Still Thinking

You can't have the "coil" type lanyard now - must be straight

You still thinking of doing this Phil? if so I'll see you there.:thumb2

Mablethorpe no go

I am sorry but the answer is no
Just got a message from Norfolk line they have cancelled the ferry I was due to come back to Ireland on
I have re booked with stena into holyhead but I cannot work it to include Mablethorpe without being late for work on monday (if i still have a job)
so it will just be the Classic bike show in telford instead
sorry you wont be able to see me making a fool of myself

great day, great racing, some 'interesting bikes' and good turn out:thumb2

.............. and the white helmet in pic 4 would be Steve Lomas #51 then. He seems to win all the 500 unlimited road class races - not bad for someone in their early sixties

beach racing

Me an shaggy rode over to mabelthorpe twoz great day out and freezing too the wind coming in off the north sea was bitter cold but it did'nt spoil the fun. The offs kept the paramedics busy as well, those poor buggers sat at the start line waiting for the racers to be re-started for what felt like ages.

Another photo of No24

I was also at Mablethorpe on a ride out with Barnsley Bikers and managed to get some decent photos. It was cooold
