So I finally have my 94rt together,I set the valve clearance ,then found I had no screws in the carb vacuumed take off port ,fixed that set the air screws too three quarters of a turn out ,backed off all the cables and started the thing for the first time .
It runs,however I the bean can retarded as far as it will go so the timing mark is in the middle of the window But the tick over will sometimes rise on its own and climb too 3000 rpm does this sound like a bean can fault ?the bike had done 54,000 miles and I had it in bits so I never knew how it ran before.

The carbs were refurbed by scriminger and the did a cracking job
I have also checked my chocke and throttle cables and the are all fine
Any help would be gratefully received
