as we seem to be in a quiet spell on the forum I shall wish all a happy new year, bit late I know

bike about to hit 6000 miles, service due, all good and well impressed
not much more to say, beginning to wish for those days of un reliable European machines if only to have something to moan about!

take care and here's hoping the mild temp's continue

Happy New Year to all as well, I reckon we are all in T mode at this time of year, subdued but still up for S mode when the chance comes to get out. Myself done 7800 miles since new 05/01/15 eeking out tyre life another 200 miles and then the new Battlax will go on, no issues apart from......... well nothing, ah well best head over now to the GS threads to see what ails and ill's I am missing . Happy 2016 all.

Hello and Happy New Year Mark and Richard

Although I have covered less than half your miles I only use the bike for leisure and holidays, I am still riding through December (a first for me) and will do so until they start to spray salt on the local roads, issues with the bike so far amounted to ZERO!, how brilliantly boring is that, I still look in on the Explorer owners site from time to time (having owned 2 before the S10) just to catch up on the latest tails of woe, some of the threads relating to the known older issues and new issues which have recently developed run to hundreds of pages, the site its self has a very negative feel to it when compared to the S10 section here and the Super Tenere site.

Richard we should be up in Matolck for an S10 meet in April (date to be confirmed) hope you will be able to make it and the coffee's or beer's on me, I am also already booked in at Matlock early August for a week.

Mark if you are available we hope to have a few S10 leaving from the Norwich area for the April ride to Matlock .

Just me who left it in S mode from day one then:D within a mile of the dealers on day one when I had in in T mode I thought feck this it hardly accelerates in first or second:eek:it`s a bloody 1200 for gods sake:eek: S mode is a bit urgent until you get used to it but can`t get on with T mode.
Picked it up end of October last year and had the 18,000 mile service and another rear tyre last Saturday:beerjug:

EDIT last year being October 2014!

I haven't looked at the mileage since it had it's 12,000 mile service last summer, probably around 14-15k now. The only issues have been those arising from hitting deer, twice. Bent forks, broken plastics. Bike otherwise utterly reliable bar a rear spoke that came loose. Do check them regularly gents!

S mode all the time, especially since Hilltop worked their magic on it. Pick up is always smooth and progressive now, even at low revs around town.

yes keep me posted please, sorry I baled on the last one, minor domestic issue which required me dealing with local tradesmen

packer

back in my service days some guys used the deer whistles on their bikes/cars - no idea if they work!!
