I saw someone mention the "7 rivers Tour in France" on Facebook. Never heard of it so searched and this website turned up with several short circuits around Belgian and French Flandersish

Thank you, Wessie.

For many years, I have passed a faded sign, deep in a valley near Desvres, which reads ‘7 Vallées’. I had never known what it was. I had simply guessed that it was for some event or other, long since past.

It’s a nice bit of France to ride about in. At some point, I’ll have a go at cutting the jaunts, short as they are, into GPX files.

I lived at Warhem up by Dunkerque just a few km further NE and the whole coastline / area is fascinating

Beaches that "we" all drive by to get somewhere

Memorials/ war graves etc Just in the tiny area were quite "humbling" even the tiny village where I stayed had a war grave cemetary

Yet the rural life goes on and when I was there, it was a great place to live Nipping across into CoudeKerque Hondschoote and even Diksmuide for family shops and stores

One thing If you like Stinky Cheese?? Fromage de Bergues C'est un fromage à pâte molle à croûte lavée, parfois semi-dure, assez maigre, à l'aspect crayeux et à l'odeur puissante

It is themost amazing stinky cheese The SurStromming of cheese! Even in a plastic tub you can still smell it !!

Anyway the region has plenty to offer if you have a day or 3 Malo les Bains, Zuydcoote Bray-Dunes had an amazing beech for miles(kms) between all of them and walkway / road parallel to it

Anyway Babbling here but fond memoires :D

Once I had discovered how the new ‘split screen’ works on an iPad (it’s bloody fiddly) I had a go at cutting the routes into MyRoute. I failed!

Unless I am missing something, the website’s routes are too difficult to read. Even I lacked the patience to do it.
