Best 7-Seater for 10K ?

For 10k you will be well out of 1.9 galaxy territory and into 09/10 plates. If you regularly carry 7 then it has to be the 2.2 and aim for titanium with all the bits on, may just be out of reach for 10k thou. I have the 2.0 diesel with 6speed box. Plenty of power and 45+ mpg! lots of space and drives really well.

Do not be tempted by the mazda 5 diesel people carrier , the dpf WILL fail, it WILL fill the sump with diesel and it WILL blow the engine up.

Son has one. DPF light came on. £300 to get the guts out of the DPF and reprogramme to match.
They also have a Sharan. Dual Mass Flywheel failed at 45,000.

depends what you mean by 'best'? - mpg? reliability? safety? etc.

I would recommend a Volvo XC90. Besides the XC70 I currently have it was the best car I had. Very solid wagon, good mpg for an auto even better if you get a manual (rarer). The 2.4 5 cylinder engine is a great unit. I liked the fact that the rearest 2 seats are not right up against the rear window. One thing to look out for is that the AWD works OK as a spline in the drive system is know to fail.

They are cheap now. Watch out for road tax though.

... or look for an XC70 seven seater, they are all of the above with better mpg.

Good luck
