Silverlands - Dervla Murphy - 3/5 - can be boring but I still read it all.


Reading:

The Great Game - Britain / Russia playing in Afghanistan - hard slog but interesting 4/5

Eric Newby (rip) starting with The Last Grain Race - brilliant writer of good stories and accounts. 10/5
Michael Palin - "New Europe" book pretty good, light read. 4/5

Currently reading Calum's Road by Roger Hutchinson (for obvious reasons ), lot of historical background to the Western Isles as well as Calum's story but one I'd recommend.

Just finished this. I'd say its a 3/5 as some of the longer words were a bit tricky, but it keeps you guessing till the end.

A Quiet Belief in Angels - RJ Ellory, great crime thriller
Mission - Patrick Tilley, Christ re-appears in downtown NY, possibly out of print now, but a fantastic bit of fiction, funny, irreverent, thought provoking
The Time Traveller's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger, actually tugged at the old heart strings...
