Best deal Broadband ISP

Currently have a 1meg broadband connection with AOL which costs about £26.99per mth. I want to go wireless and I know there are some issues with AOL. I also want to save money, so the question is what is the best deal you have come across ?

Annoyingly, the promo wasn't around when I signed up.

It's rebadged NTL and you will need a BT phone line to use it. Cheap at £17.99 a month and no 12 month contract which was why I signed up.

They supply a USB modem so you might want to invest in your own wireless ADSL modem/router. Netgear & Linksys make good kit.

the first question should be what do you want to do with your broadband - wired and wireless is not really a issue as they all can be either, unless you are trying to get bundled equipment with the deal.

if you are gamer your requirements from your isp will be different to those that just need to view email or if you want to run your own mail or web server etc

have a look at sites like these - they have forums which highlight issues with various isps (complaints, speed problems et al)
