Anyone got any ideas on the best all round gloves out there? Have always used leather and always end up with black palms after a ride, especially in summer. Maybe I have a death-grip on the handlebars when I ride, but it does get bloody hot here in the tropics and hands sweat. Done the old trick of throwing them in the washer but the dye still seems to run. Any other materials anyone has had experience with. Brands...? :nenau

Guess this question is not aimed at the Poms as they are just trying to keep warm all year round.

Elkskin ropers in "natural" (ie no dye) from Aerostich worked for me when I woz riding in the tropics.

Alpinestars Octane S-Moto

Fully vented leather gloves with perforated leather on the fingers and back but armoured like a rhino and the same speck armour / palm as they wear in moto GP. Available in more sober colours (black) as well as blue etc.

Protection whilst still cool, look fab, dye doesn't run in mine :thumb

Only one answer to that, HELD and no black palms either!!! Mine are made-to-measure Held Profis, (because of my thumb) and Held charge just £30 over the catalogue price for a made-to-measure service.

Here is the website http://www.held-biker-fashion.de/

The British importer is

Keith Blair Ltd.
Marchington Woodlands,
Uttoxeter,
ST14 8PB

phone 01283 820508
fax 01283 820398

Keith is a biker and a very friendly guy to do business with. I have no connection with him other than as a very satisfied customer.

I'll tell you that you are daft if you are wearing fabric motocross gloves on the road :eek You'll have plenty of feel if you have an off, plenty of feel as the tarmac rips through them and your skin

Max feel can be had from supermoto or summer race gloves, and they come with max protection :thumb

Try that up here in winter and your hands would freeze to the bars!!! :D

I use the BM gloves cookie mentioned in summer and Hein Gericke Master gloves in winter. The HG gloves are the dogs doohas :)

They are great gloves, used them all summer, even got a second set when I lost one, (know idea how). It's alway a good sign if you liked them enough to replace them. :thumb
