How do you fancy leaving the Central Belt and taking in the following
Scotlands 5 ski centres
Two of the highest roads in the land, Glenshee and The Lecht
Most of Scotlands highest peaks including:-
-Ben Lawers, Cairnwell, Cairngorm, Braeraich, Ben Alder, Creag Meggy, Anoch Mor, Ben Nevis & Ben Lomond
Some of its finest Lochs, Loch Tay, Loch Linne, Loch Lomond,
Two of its finest rivers, the Tay and the Spey.
Plenty of Whisky Distilleries
Scotlands finest motorbike road A82 through its finest Glen, Coe
And still be back for tea?
Well it will be 320+ miles
Roughly, it goes something like this:
Calender, Killin, Aberfeldy, Pitlochry, Glenshee, Braemar, The Lecht, Tomintoul, Nethy Bridge, Colyumbridge, Kingussie, Fort William, Glen Coe, Crianlarich, Balloch.
When to go? Well yesterday would be ideal.
You want to go March/April when there is still snow on the hills and not necessarily the roads and when it is sunny. Don't think about it in low cloud, wind or light rain as you are above 1000 feet a fair bit of the journey and quite a bit higher and exposed from Glenshee all the way to Tomintoul.
For some sections the summer tourist will make the journey a bit of a drag but most of these roads are at best secondary.
And for the photos....
