I'm fed up with all these KTMs making better music than me. What are the best pipes for the 800GS and MOST IMPORTANT do they reduce fuel economy? The 800GS has a small enough tank without burning more fuel due lack of back pressure. :D

I have the Metal Mule Scorpion Exhaust. It means I can use MM balanced (symmetrical) frames for equal sized panniers. It sounds decent, can't say whether it has any affect on fuel economy. If it does it's negligible, especially compared with road & weather conditions and how hard you ride.

My Akrapovic, no baffles, excellent. Not very noisy but sounds great.

Can you all measure the circumference please? I am after something much smaller than the ridiculously fat stock, and then using the space gained for a tool tube.

For once, small girth wins hands down :rob

The Metal Mule that goes with their panniers tucks in the most - this borne of the fact it's oval and has an odd link pipe that moves the can in.

Beowulf do a shorter length oval can, though i've not seen this one in the flesh i'm sure someone on here has got it as there was a mod to stop it burning the number plate...

I take it you mean on the opposite side... See here for my Scorpion exhaust and balanced Metal Mule frames:

And here for my tool tube:

If you can't beat um.... trade it in and buy a KTM.

I'm with the standard pipe clan, boring note amplified is a loud boring note.

No, not exactly; I've got a tool tube on the opposite side, I'd like to fit a smaller (thinner) silencer and then use the acquired space underneath for another tool tube

I think you'll be pushing it to find an exhaust and a tube that will fit on one side. Unless you manufacture something yourself. I honestly think that the space would be so small it wouldn't be worth it.
