I'm in a groups of 10 bikes going to the Savoie in mid June staying in Samoens just south of Morzine.

We are mix of sports bikes, nakeds and GS's. I know that we are going to be spoilt for choice for roads and there are websites with recommendations. However, I would be interested in members personal experiences of the area - best roads that are not too busy, best places for food/drink, places to avoid, general tips. We'll try to go to Switzerland and Italy during the trip too.

Any views, recommendations, advice very welcome.

Run West to Cluses and take the D4 over the Col de la Colombiere to La Clusaz. Then the D909 over the Col des Aravis to Flumet. Straight over the D1212 towards Beaufort via the Col des Saisies and then take the D925 over the Cormet de Roseland to Bourg St Maurice. Take the D1090 up La Rosiere and over the Col du Petit St Bernard to Courmayeur and back to Chamonix via the tunnel and thence back to samoens.

That will need an early start but the route is well worth it.
