Need a better screen, because the stock Dakar one is p1ss poor at keeping anything off you

Any ideas?

Wunderlich Ergo?????

Johnny there was a post on the chaingang frum about a guy that adapted the pre twinspark dakar screen to the twinspark. if you found the old one better then source one and drill it :)

Ps. your bike will look better too...always thought of the twinsparks screen as "brylcreemed"

You`re about my height Johnny and I gave up with screens. I ride with the little GS screen to keep crap of the binnacle and just put up with wind blast...which I dont find too bad if I keep below 80mph and avoid Mways.

Thanks Dave & George,
Dave,
Which did you try and fail with, so as to avoid, so to speak.
The only one that seems to get good reviews is the Wumderlich Ergo tall for Dakar
Failing that I may stick to stock and add a Laminar Lip :D

I tried the 04-on Dakar screen which was worse than useless. A German chap had a Wunderlich and was good enough to let me have a go...better but still got a lot of helmet buffeting.
I found the pre04 Dakar screen was the best of the bunch but would need major surgery on my bike of course.

I`m sure there is a combination of screen + fittings that would do the job but to be honest I`ve gotten used to riding without a screen and like I`ve said, its only a problem on a windy day at Mway speeds.

I've recently acquired Ergo Tall to replace the standard screen on my MY04 650GS. I'm 6'1" and have the Dakar seat.

The Ergo Tall has moved the buffeting from chest to head with quite unpleasant consequences at anything over 60mph  . The other thing that has surprised me is the impact on stability. I will have to change it, and my new focus will be on something with a top lip to lift the airflow right up.

I got this wrong after a lot of research! Why oh why hasn't Tobinator done one for the 650?
