Determined to get a ride in this bank holiday I have taken an extra day off and got on my bike. Up at six I quietly put on my leather clad and wheeled out the speed triple from under the stairs hopefully I haven’t awoken the wife and kids – quickly accelerate away just in case, (if they wer’nt awake they are now). Off I go to Terry’s Burger Bar at Storey Arms nothing in front of me all the way. Arrived before Terry admiring the view as you do before he opens up he brings over a coffee and we chat what a nice bloke.
Head off to Llandovery (a40), then to Builth (a483) sit down by the river and drink some of my fresh coffee I made before I left home (I have a thing about good coffee and food at that). Back on the road head for Abergavenny (a479) traffic building up a bit but I don’t care weather fantastic it doesn’t matter. Get to Abergaveny there is not a bike in sight.
A little while later I start chatting to a guy on a KTM 950 Mal from Bristol yet another great bloke.
My conclusion is work on bank holidays have the next day off, ride a bike and always have someone to talk too (I don’t need the bike really I will always talk to anyone I think its something to do with the coffee).
Home now my shift with the kids
