Bike been stood for a while? Check your fuel hoses

I hadn't used my R1100GS for about a month and half until this morning. It fired up on the button as usual, but greeted me with a puddle of petrol on the garage floor. Closer inspection revealed that ALL of the fuel hose clips (on QRs and fuel pipes) were slightly loose. Once I'd nipped everything up the leak stopped. I guess the fuel pipes had shrunk slightly with the bike being stood. They are all new hoses too. Anyway, just as well I noticed or I would have just ridden off, and either run out of fuel faster than normal or risked ending up in a huge fireball.

More likely the overall age of the bike than it being down to the last few months stood.

I wonder if they're the originals ?

I replaced all the fuel hoses last summer as the old ones were hard and starting to crack. I bought the proper ethanol proof stuff as well.

Maybe you didn't tighten them up ? I'm sure someone once said they need tightening before fuel goes through them ? How true that is I haven't got a clue.

They were tightened up before they had fuel through them and they've been on the bike leak free for over 4000 miles, my bet is on the hoses shrinking, but I stand to be corrected? Whatever I'll be keeping an eye on them from now, I could do without high pressure fuel sprayed down my right leg again!
