Bike cover

Can anybody recomend a decent bike cover for my 1150, which unfortunatly has to live outside. All the usual requsites, waterproof, non scratch, non melting on a warm exhaust and not to flashy. I've tried a couple of searches here but came up zilch, so if it has been covered (no pun intended) can someone give me a link.

What you seek

is a HELA cover-
Side vents for breathability,
Heat resistant (although maybe not by your standard )
Black with silver bits
Waterproof (stayed one night under it through massive downpour when no tent!)

The large cover will do the GS I think but check- If you have side cases on and top box you might want the extra large.

Don't use one...they get all moist and sweaty underneath a cover......the dew rises up and has nowhere to go......mine lives outside permanently as well and I reckon you're beter off with liberal doses of one of the coatings you'll find recommended here.

I'd agree with Bill except that there are decent water-proof & breathable covers out there.

My bike lives outside all year too but I bought a cover (recommended by BMW) from http://www.dbcovers.co.uk

I now have two, both water-proof, both breathable. One a heavy-duty one I use in the winter and a light-weight one that I take with me on trips for when there's no secure parking (keeps sticky-fingers off the bike).

Both can be put on a 'hot' bike. The only additional thing I do is to use an old T-shirt over the screen just as an extra precaution against scratching it.

About £50 for the heavy-duty "Large Tourer model" that will cover my 1150GSA with TT Zega's and top-box.

They are elasticated fore and aft, have a quick release clip underneath and neither go fully to the ground so air can circulate. Both have their own stuff sacks.

I bought a oxford stormex which always does well in tests, got it in a sale but I think there are some on ebay at a decent price.
I rate it as one of my better buys, paid about £50 which might seem expensive for a cover but in relation to paying over £7000 for the bike its nothing. Its breathable, has eyelets to put chains through and is fleece lined.
