Bike gear in Lidl

Lidl are selling bike gear again. Is any of this stuff any good?

"Servicable" is the best description. I bought a set of underwear from Lidl last year. It's OK. You get what you pay for: no less, no more.

I got the thermal underwear and socks there before and I think they are fantastic. Use them every day I'm on the bike.
I don't know about the jackets. They probably would not last long, or keep the water out. No gore-tex in them.
I see they have an anti fog film for visors too, in with the stickers....
I might pop in for a look....

just an observation from a happy customer on IBF (www.irishbikerforum.com)

I've been wearing the Lidl jacket and trousers for over two years now. I wash them about once a year in the Nikwax stuff. I trust them in all downpours now, although they are getting a bit shapeless (maybe that's just me !). The socks, kidney belt are good too.

I got the rain suit, the back protector and the tank bag.

Unfortuatly the tank bag doesnt work on the GSA, as it is attached by magnets. If you have a metal tank, it is 100%. I have bought a new bag for my GSA, at a big price, and is only marginally better than the Lidl one.

The rain suit seems to be as good as any other rain suits I have seen for sale.

Thankfully, I haven't tested the back protector (God willing), but it seems fine.

Have looked at the jackets....they seem a little lacking in armour, but have met one member on here who loves his.

Nuff said!!!

The rain suit is excellent, I have an large one and wear it over or leather Jacket or under my leaky textile jacket when necessary, it works 100%:thumb

Was on a trip to Scotland in Sept 2008 with the Maddocks, on the last day it pi**ed down, all the BMW rain suites were quickly put on, except for one individual who put a LIDL rain suit on, guess what? it was one of the Maddocks. Enough said.
