Please bear with me on this one............

In the late eighties Bike or PB tested a gahston rahier (sp)PD replica that someone made, and tested round a quarry. It was a superby cool bike from memory bloomin' big with a custom alloy tank. My mate used to have the mag, and I always intended swiping it, but didn't, and now having confessed to wanting to swipe it, cant find it.

Does anyone remember or even better have the article?

Rob

I think i remember it now ,i think it was right at the back of the mag ,readers special ,i will have a look later.

I have found the article i was thinking of ,it's an r80rt based pd bike built by bracken bmw ,trouble is it's in my pile of mags to keep ,i haven't got a scanner either so if someone has fairly local they could borrow it and scan it ,unless you can think of another way.
hope this helps
by the way it's performance bikes march 1989.

£2.49 from here

That's cool :thumb ,but don't think it's the one that's in the mag ,unless he's changed lot's of it.

That's not this one then ,this is a twin shock with twin low pipes ,fairing and pannier fuel tanks at the back ,and a shortened or snapped off low front guard ,but it is white ,with bracken mw on the tank.

I could well have faulty memory after nearly 20 years. I'll keep an eye out for a copy.

Jon, I've just read your comments prop0erly. Thanks, I've got one coming

Cheers

Rob

From (fading) memory, there was a Performance Bike special was based on a bumble bee (say 89 - the best ones :D) and was bored and re-geared and all sorts of stuff, but basically looked akin to a 'standard model'. Lusted over that one parked up outside Kent show many, many, many years ago (91?). That's obviously not the one you mean though, unless...
That bike was then taken further and I believe (may be wrong?) ended up as 'Desert Storm' which I briefly rode after it was up for sale here in early days. I'd just bought ours and couldn't justify two :blast It was in South Wales. Then sold on (to whom on here I forget) and I think was last menioned couple of years ago. Probably still here? That's from memory.
I have a couple of articles in my sad lads mag collection, but they're in loft so no chance of finding I'm afraid. I think there was something on here wayback though - will try and find it. ;)

Was Bomber see http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46670&highlight=desert+storm
there was other stuff about the specials but goes well back to near beginning of the site

Neither or non may be the one you seek mind

Desert Storm bike was featured in Performance Bike , can't remember month/ year , I have the article somewhere !

If it was this bike its very different in so much has its bright yellow with a FJ1100 fairing fitted etc etc etc .

It will I think be for sale when I either re subscribe or really make a firm decision ie I ' love buying but hate selling '.

Suppose I could always swop it !!!!

Who knows !
