Went to the bike show today, not impressed! I was one of the few who went on a bike and counted only 18 in the car park. There was no dedicated bike park and if you are not there early you will have to park in a muddy field with the cars, ok on a GS but I pity those on others.

£15 to get in but I was informed that if you brought the Sun newspaper on Fri it was buy one ticket get one free if you produced the car supplement? Did any bike publication put on an offer like that! I know it may encourage some car drivers to take an interest in bikes but it would appear that there were no bikers at all at the show and it was all geared up for the car driver. I did notice that a lot of the drivers made the effort to dress in bike gear though.

Weather was shit and the Forth road bridge was closed to bikes so worth checking that if its as bad tomorrow. The police were turning bikes back if they took the chance, that will be a 30 mile detour via Kincardin then!

On a positive note if you are passing the moto services at kinross it may be worth popping in, the police were looking for bikers in the car park and if you took the time to have a chat and look in their camera van they would buy you lunch (bacon and sausage rolls with tea / coffee) they even give you a side stand puck type thing and a key ring. They were a bit disappointed as I was the only bike they had seen. Not sure if they will be there tomorrow but it may be worth a look if your passing. By the way the whole purpose of the exercise was to show bikers that the camera vans can now get bikes due to forward, rearward and side facing cameras, there is no escape!

Rant over, show was rubbish and won't be going back again, BMW stand was poor too. I made a 300 mile round trip on the bike in the pouring rain and gale force winds and it just wasn't worth it, I did buy an Airhawk saddle though:)

Same old same old.....

Sorry to read of the wasted day....I'll be giving it a miss until they change the venue....:rob

Full of Tak :(

HM Plant 2 year old t-shirts and the old tiawan bike gear.

Nearly got some Altbergs but didnae have my size

Mind you think we spent enough at Motorrad central in the morning:D

The weather and roads up from Dumfries today were good fun but the show was shit. £4 for a beef role what a rip off the worst of it was i bought 2. The New 800GS looks brilliant in the flesh and the Silver one they had on the stand looks better than it does in the pictures.

Got wetter walking from the farthest reaches of the car park then standing in a queue to get in than I would have done if I had taken the bike. Apart from the manufacturers stands not much quality gear on show.

Would have been acceptable if they had been giving away tickets like they did for the Excel show but not worth the entrance fee. Catering a real rip off as usual at all these events.

One good point, I got so fed up I was home in time to see the rugby and what a match it was. Not much sign of low swinging chariots on the A1 south tonight.

At least me and Tash stood for ages at the entrance to welcome Rev Chuck to the show so in view of that and the size of a company like BMW, troops of dancing girls and a fanfare would be small change in comparison :augie

Hope ye've came out unscathed today Andy you looked pretty swamped at times:thumb

It seems that the Scottish show is just like the Northern Irish show....crap.
I guess that is why I never bother wasting my time or money attending these regional shows. The only ones worth going to in the UK are the big two at the NEC and London. I know the main reasons for having regional shows is to make money for the organizers, but every year without fail, the negative comments out-weigh the good. And yet people keep on going back in-case they miss something.

Save up your dosh over the year and go to the main shows mentioned above, or even Milan for a real blast. You know it makes sense. :aidan
