Changed the oil and did the tappets on my R1100GS last month. Discovered too late how easy it is to snap the rocker cover bolts.
. I tried to extract it myself only to make things work. Anyway Saturday before last I had a bike that was osing oil and had a new bolt masticed in place. Oh and 5 days before going off to Ireland.
I turned up at SBW Motorrad and talked Aidan. He offered a new head as a fix. £600 plus labour
or a trip to the engineer they use at Bikersrealm in Welwyn. I was already a long way from home so I went over on spec.
Duncan Shaw is a top bloke
. Thought he could break out the old bolt and weld the head. took the bike there and then, and drove me to the station.
Bike was ready by tuesday, good as new for £100 or so. All very impressive

Does anyone else use him? There was 1150GS there when I went. Duncan services some others apparently.
So if you need a techy person in Herts give them a go.
