Wish I could say I understood it. Can someone translate?

The bike draws 10.8 amps minimum for running the electronics and low beam headlight.

The Alternator can supply 17.7 amps at idle which means there will be 6.9 amps charge into the battery if it needs it. Since the battery is 14 ah, it would charge from flat in about two hours. They seem to have specified the alternator to provide sufficient power even if the coolant fan kicks in and takes another 4.7 amps, which makes sense.

However if you turn on the heated grips full and the fan kicks in then you will start to drain the battery but even then it would run for some 10 hours before going flat.

There you go,
I watched the middle earth on the telly, The boys were on top of a mountain in minus temps, they warmed up in the camera van but they left the bikes on tickover for some time while they warmed up, It didn't show it but one of them turned the bikes off.. When they went to start up the bikes again both bikes had flat batterys.... So that's why I asked..
Tickover with lights on, maybe heated grips turned on aswell....
Cheers for all the replies guys, tosh

In fact if you put the lights on you can watch them dim and eventualy the engine will stall, mind you it is itilian and fecked.
