Unashamed bump - the better weather is here, & we still have places available

Martin I have tried to book May course on web and failed to get past first screen,so phoned main office several times, cant get an answer so left message, but nobody has returned my call . It is getting to the too difficult stage but I would still like to come, any chance?
Maybe it would be possible for you to phone me on 07825 014819 and we could bypass the officialdom and make the necessary arrangements,or leave me your direct number and I shall call you.:

Martin Yes thanks They contacted me this morning and I am now signed up for the April session due to a new committment on 15 May.

Come along to the Prescott Bike Festival, & look at course dates.

Chaps,
With a promising forecast for the coming weekend, if you’re looking for somewhere to ride to on Sunday April 10th, you might like to consider Prescott, near Cheltenham.
To raise money for the “Severn Freewheelers”, a charity that runs despatches for the NHS (blood bikes) a full days programme has been compiled.
I shall be there on behalf of BikeSafe, & look forward to meeting a few tossers.

Did the Suffolk one at the weekend. VERY informative, great atmosphere. Took a bit of getting used to have a Copper on my tail though !! But the whole thing was very relaxed.

I had been expecting a "Don't do this and don't do that" and an "always stick to the Highway code" etc. Nothing like that at all. It was all about making progress on a bike. Safe progress but progress just the same. I had thought that 'Roadcraft' was a manual on how to be a totally legal and HC following (read boring) rider. Had no idea it was all about getting from A to B quickly and safely.

A lot of the instruction was like that which I had for my DAS 18 months ago and which I try to follow (although that was geared more to passing the test of course) but it was very good to have a very well trained rider critiquing me. Notice I said 'well trained' rather than experienced ? Well, I know a number of riders who are very 'experienced' and think they know it all but don't necessarily ride well but these cops are both .... Anyways, my speed came up a good amount in the bends and flowed a lot more.

I'd recommend a bikesafe to any rider - even experienced ones - as it's always nice to get a fresh view on how you ride. £50 FFS. And a good lunch :thumb2 They even tagged an hour and a half 'First On Scene' First Aid course at the end of it.

Did the bikesafe course in April and found it to be very worthwhile . I thought the classroom session would be boring as I have done it before but Martin made it quite entertaining and other than the fact it was a lovely day and we should have been out riding it was ok. However the following week was mostly out riding and I think I was one of the lucky ones as I had the fortune of (probably being a tosser ) selected to go out with Martin as my observer. You cannot believe how easy a good professional rider makes it look, his lines and the ease of every move are a pleasure to observe. I personally gained more from following Martin than any other aspect and would suggest that everybody could benefit from doing this course, however good you think you are.
