Bing 40mm carbs

Hi I've just fitted new carb diaphragms to my 1989 r100gs and in the kit from motor works it's got 6 o rings. I think one for main jet holder one for pilot jet one for pilot mixture screw one for choke mechanism shaft one on butterfly shaft not sure where else they go any thoughts is there one under the needle jet holder as when I took it out the crap around it looked like a broken up old o ring .Haynes does not show one but it don't show one on the main jet holder and there is one there. The carbs are really dirty and I'm not sure they are assembled correctly the choke mechanism has a dot on the end of the shaft which way should this go ?. It does run sort of ok but I would like to get the idle better and the choke seems to be full on or off nothing in between

My overhaul kit for the 32s came with just 5. Im pretty sure its the same for the 40s.

Maybe you got a freebie by mistake, unless they have changed the kit contents in the last 2 months...

Have a look at this old post http://ukgser.com/forums/showthread...at-tick-over-and-low-revs?highlight=carb+ring then check to see if your slides have a big O ring under the slide.
