Bing Carb rebuild

The carbueration on my 85 G/S is not right and it is difficult to start from cold. As the bike had been sitting for a while I have been advised to get the carbs cleaned and rebuilt. I see there are a couple of companies in the UK offering to strip them, ultarasonic clean and rebuild. I live in Cornwall and they offer a postal service. Anybody on here used such a service ? or any recommendations.

I personally don’t think ultrasonic cleaning is as good as people think,for this particular job(I do have an ultrasonic tank)
I strip the carbs and vapour blast them,I find it gives me a far better result.
Your problem either way is once the cleaned carbs come back to you they will still need setting up to get the bike running properly.
You may even have a problem elsewhere causing your running/starting problems,messing with the carbs may make things worse.
It would probably work out cheaper just to get the bike to someone who knows airheads to sort it

Agree on the ultra-sound thing Mike. I did my Guzzi carbs in one, then had to do them again properly.

Thanks Mike, that seems like sound advice, but not sure that there is anyone down this way with expertise in Airheads. If anyone knows someone I would be happy to go down that route.
