I'm thinking seriously about getting an Autocom and seeing as the prices are good at the moment it seems like the right time.

Anyway, I want something for my iPod or Radio, GPS and possibly a phone but not essential. That will be the main use, however, I ocasionally have a pillion and would like to be able to fit a two way radio for bike to bike comms when touring with company.

Am I right in thinking the Active-Duo - Kit 200 currently £ 100 ticks all the boxes?

Cheers.

Certainly does...bit of a bargain at the moment....

Try the 'Intaride' site for bike to bike radio.

http://www.intaride.com/803 pro radio.html

I have just bought the above model.... excellent, well made bit of kit and a switchable 4Watt output. .. this thing knocks spots of my Kenwood PMR's in terms of range.....is compatible with Autocom Kenwood leads.

You may see threads stating you can buy these even cheaper off ebay, but they are chinese branded products (made by the same company) wich need setting up for UK PMR frequencies and have all spoken instructions etc (yes the radio talks to you when setting up) in Chinese (or so I'm told)

Any ideas where they are stocked?

Try Autocom themselves...

the were still knocking them out at half price ('till stocks gone.) last I heard.

Failing that, theres one on ebay for 94 quid delivered.

I would definitely go for kit 300 model in order to have the function/option of powering the radio off the Autocom.
If bike-to-bike wasn't an issue, then go for the kit 200.

Hope this helps.

Bike to bike is not that important, happy to take rechargeable batteries for the radio. Only plan to use it bike to bike once or twice a year.

Got one tonight on the way home, the 200 Active Duo Plus. James at Dobles is a top bloke :thumb Extremely helpful, very nice shop actually, Honda dealer with loads of kit for sale:D

Saved myself a trip to the London Bike Show too:D

The hasty purchaser should have talked to his GS'er mate he knows who works for a communications company - he might have got a deal and I might have got a bacon sandwich :augie

Bugger bugger arse shit:blast:blast:blast:blast

I will need some extra cables for GPS etc..

I need to talk to you anyway about a bit of business, PM me a phone no please Andy;)
