Having had some work for a couple of months, and won some Motorworks vouchers for calendar pictures, I have bit the bullet and ordered a Keihan silencer for the 80GS. It will probably mean I have to do the middle section before long, but hopefully I will have time to save up some more for that bit and will never have to worry about the exhaust rusting through. A bird tells me that the original silencer is probably worth a bit, so I will see if I can get it welded sympathetically and then put some oil inside it to prevent it rusting through on the shelf. Meanwhile, I shall just burble a little more loudly through the joint leak, which is where the hole has appeared.
