BLACK AND WHITE DAKAR RARE?

HELLO,Just wondered why i have seen some black white dakars adverised as one of 80 and rare?
i have seen a few around ,andy has thought that it may be due to the 40 dealers recieving allocation of 2 each .
thus making 80 per year?
this bike made for 2yrs?

i expect there must be imports as well?
any thoughts anyone.

also do you know when they were first sold/released?

ps i am looking for brochures and info on the early 650dakar

hi.
My guess is that the B/W version was the 2000 model. Then they changed to to an even uglier paint scheme after that.

hi recently purchased a ( W reg 2000 ) black & white import.
absolutley spotless
iv'e seen a couple black & white one's around here.

NOT rare just that some people advertise as ltd edition etc which is not really the case.
