Was up in Richmond at the weekend where a Bike cop from the military police was giving out flyers.

There is a charity run to help the Black Rat fund which supports the soldiers and families of the 4th mechanised brigade that are based at Catterick Garrison. They are currently on tour in Helmand, Afghanistan.

The ride starts at Catterick garrison with a run around the place, then to Richmond, through local villages and dispersing at Scotch Corner. The route is approx 22 miles.

Full details are at www.blackratfund.org - not sure whether I am going myself yet, but might be worth a day out.

Am booked on slot 4 of this rideout- looking at some of the press it looks like it could be massive.

People can turn up on he day if they want.

Am meeting up with a few friends at 9.45 for 10am set off at J31 M6 Tickled Trout if anyone is interested in coming along. We are taking the quick way up- M6 to Tebay, across to Kirkby Stephen, A66 to Scotch Corner then the start point at Marne barracks. The rideout finishes at Scotch Corner- was going to meander back through the dales- back towards Richmond, Thwaite, Muker, over buttertubs to Hawes, A684 to Sedbergh, Devils Bridge then home.
