I met Martin the German tenere rider last week in Zagora who had reported he had met Gerry down the west coast and at that stage it was still looking like a head gasket. I thought I had Gerry number on my phone but alas not .. Welcome back Gerry its a pity our paths did not cross ..

Had a few beers with him in Bamako - he had covered some ground on the bike. He was not "germanic" in the stereotypical use of that term but I still did not find out that much about him. He did give me his mobile so we could connect in Morocco
