:( after droping it agian :( 20mph on the horse shoe pass in the rain
i have lost all faith in my turances now i want some good road rubber
any recomendations
ps  the bike was rideable the car wasnt :D :D :D

I had a loan 650gs from SPC earlier in the week, this was fitted with Tourances, I had two front wheel slips  in the 60 wet miles I had the bike.

Tyres on my 1200 are getting knackered and i was thinking about fitting tourances (after reading many reccomendations on this site) but now my perceived confidence in them has been dented so I may go the 020 route, questions, questions :nenau :nenau

Good luck Shep

Bridgestone

I have a set of 020's on my 1200 GS and they are superb. Hubby has also got a set on his 12LT and they work well on that bike too. I would give them a try even though they are a little more expensive than most others.

Yep I had 020's on my old 1200 gs, they were brilliant but didn't last too long (3500 from a rear) I've just been quoted £190(ish) for a pair fitted, so may go that route.

I've always maintained that the front end of the 650 is unstable in anything other than perfect conditions. I can only speak of the Dakar and it's only my personel observations, one of those observations was quite painful I remember

I totally agree, although I've found the Anakees to be much better than the previous Sahara 3s though. There was a recent thread about this, the GS 19" front wheel improves the Dakar apparently, however if you've got a GS........ :nenau

Yes, my Dakar had Sahara 3's when I got it, now have TKC 80's and would say it feels slightly more planted. I also had Sahara 3's on a TTR 600 and again I didn't trust the front.
Part of the problem with me is doing so many miles on an 1150 which front end is sublime, anything less feels unpredictable in slippy conditions.
You may be right about fitting a smaller front wheel but my 650 is really my off road bike, so I can forgive it as long as it forgives me.

dropped it

Hi I am running Continental Escapes and compared to teflon trailwings they are coping well , I have done about 300 miles on them almost all in wet conditions and have not had any moments with them they grip well on all but the greasiest road surface . Even the price was right at about £30 less than tourances

Have a look at Pirelli sport demons for a F650. Very road biased. Good grip in the wet and dry. Very V-shaped profile, so lots of rubber down on the corners.

Never had a moment on them (Well, until I dropped it on a manhole cover and that was not really the tyres fault.) :eek PB
