Looking at getting the wunderlich techlusion magic box for my 1200 which has a full remus, to complete the package it appears a "blue" air filter is advised, is this the same quality/spec as a K&N????

all help appreciated

:)

Same idea exactly, reusable air filter same as K and N, Green etc.

cheers thunder, should i get the k&n from nippy's or does anyone have a better idea for the blue/green? one

Pipercross do a foam filter

Part number MPX098 cost £45.24

I have not tried one but I'm not keen on K & N type filters.

Green air filters are available from a number of sources including Demon Tweeks who also do Piper Cross and K and N.

I've used Green filters previously, and found them top quality.

Never had problems with K and N either, as long as you keep them cleaned and oiled at the recommended intervals they are fine.

I think the "blue" filter is Wunderlich's own branded product.

Why Change??

Guys can anyone give a sensible reason why not to use standard filters :nenau
(P.S. Not argumentative.........curious!!) :D

K+N Big thumbs up.

I've had a K+N since the 600mile service. Works very well.

Re-usable v. Paper? paper elements are ok but in dry dusty climates (like ours has been this summer the pores get clogged very quickly making the bike a bit Asthmatic (I know what thats like I am one!). Grid elements are cleanable and have less surface area therefore restrict airflow less (in theory). I like the idea of being able to service it and physically check how clogged it is.. not something you can do with paper elements.

I have on in my Jeep too!

Bob.

My reason to use a foam filter is they offer the same filtration as the OEM and can be cleaned while on a long trip in far away places when the OEM filter would not be available. They also have extended service intervals over OEM filters.
But that is also the reason I have not used one in a GS :D
