So I got round to fitting the end can this afternoon... heres the report:

Removing the can was really simple needed a T45 starbit and a standard 15mm socket:

the nuts to under are located here:

and here:

the new blueflame can appears to come with all the required fitments, but i had to use an old bolt for the can hanger:

once the can was fitted, it looks pretty good:

one thing that i was concerned with was the clearance of the can and the left side pannier, but i needn't have worried:

Finally,

heres the soundbytes:

hope those who are new to the world of the GS will find this of some use...

That has to be one of the nicest cans for the GS, looks just right :thumb:

I don't agree Andres. Like lots of cheap can manufacturers, they've taken one of their generic cans and made up a link pipe which doesn't line the can up at the correct angle. To compensate they've made a hanger which puts the can lower and at the wrong angle.

Compare the Blueflame one with the Ti Remus Revolution fitted to my bike....

I agree about the fittings, not well executed. Buuuuuut...........I do think the can looks nice, the 'right' shape and the twin exits look good on the GS, all IMHO of course :)

all the bolts are as tight as possible. i think the movement is caused by the weak bracket. a stronger piece of metal might sort it out... on the video i think you can see very slight movement in the original end can too...

i know there are a couple of other blueflame owners on here. do they have the same problem?

Eoghan

I have a blue flame but the brackets dont look the same.In one of the photos it looks like you have put a spacer in the wrong place. The main bracket, the one holding the can in place, appears to be loose because it cant be tightened enough due to the spacer. Please check this before riding.

Yeap... I know where you are coming from. I'll remove the spacer. where about should it be?

Eog
Look at your fitting instructions again,I think if you use the spacer to align the can it will end up nearer the frame.I am sure you will work it out.Ian
