Guys,

I'm looking for an A2DP transmitter so I can use the Zumo 550 in stereo when my Scala G4 arrives. However, I have 1 requirement. I would like it so that I can mount it under the seat and have it power on an off with the ignition.

All the ones I've found so far, even the ones that will run whilst charging, have required pushing of a button on them to connect with the receiver. A lot of them also power off after 2-3 mins of no signal to save battery. That would also not be much use.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks
Dae.

I tried three Scala G4s and sent them all back. Maybe just bad luck but the noise and trying to figure out the buttons was maddening. I have went for a Starcomm (also has its downsides) with a big fat volume control which works great. They are coming out with a wireless RF module at some point which is suppose to work better than Bluetooth.

I've had Autocom up to present, as has the wife. The issue with them is that there's nowhere to mount them on the new bikes. Even if we could there's definitely nowhere to mount the bike-to-bike radios we have.

Since bike-to-bike is the most important thing for us we've gone with the Scala G4. There seems to be a lot of happy people out there using them. I had a Scala Rider before the Autocom about 3 years ago and never had any bother.

The reason the G4 won over the Interphone or Sena was the FM radio. That would be useful on my commute. On my old bike I had a DAB radio fitted in the top box, but again that's no longer an option on this bike.

What bike are you using? I bought the Scala initially for the FM radio and I could never get a clear single in a very small out of the way place called London. I live 1.5 miles from a small little transmission tower called Alexandria Palace. :augie. I hope it works for you but keep your receipt handy and make sure you test the unit. All the units I had the build quality and the technical support was terrible. The only response the techs new was "send the unit to us sir in the United States at your expense and we may have the unit back to you in a month".

Buy A GS and you'll be able to fit PMR, radio and some donuts under the seat. Problem solved.
