Anyone used a B/T dongle for their Autocom but not the expensive £75 Autocom one.

I understand the Motorola HF820 and the Sony HBH-200 dongles may work.

Anyone used them?

I would heartly agree that £75 sounds a lot of money for bluetooth dongle. However, since many people keep their Autocom (and other brand) systems for ten years or more, there is quite an advantage from having a waterproof, fit-and-forget, bike-powered device.
The miniaturised Motorola and Sony devices do work however. I remember having had one for a while.

I've got an old Motorola HS830 kicking around - does anyone know how I would connect that to a Pro-7 Sport? The HS830 has a 4 pole 2.5mm socket - would I need a 2.5mm to 3.5mm 4 pole adapter and then use a standard 3.5mm stereo lead?

Cheers

Dongle

Just picked up this thread. I'm using the Autocom B/T Dongle with my 'Pro Avi' set up. Phone works - no problems, however, when I'm playing music through my phone(via Memory card), the phone will cut in but not return to the music. Bummer:(I will have to return to plugging in the MP3 PLayer - just another device and lead to have hanging around. Suppose I could scrub around listening to Max Bygraves:beer:

I use the autocom bluetooth dongle to connect to my tomtom rider 2 and its great, very reliable, fit and forget. Yes it seems a lot but its worth it. I have the latest version that is powered direct from the aux 1 port on my autocom unit. And it hides away nicely under the instruments so is well hidden and out of sight.
