Any one know what happened? Got a call from Mark (grandtrousers)Apparantly there was an accident between a BM bike and a Jag on Regent road near the town center (Manchester) last week. Rider was killed and traffic was backed up for some time. I'v not seen anything on the site so guess not a "club" member. Nothing in the local press!
Called into Williams yesterday, had a fuel leak (now cured). But nothing known there ether.
Bit of a mystery....

Very sad news.I use that road quite often and remember a few years ago a rider being stuck under his bike after getting caught under an artic where the road goes to the left just past Harry Ramsdens near the bridge.

Very sad reading................

What a terrible tragedy.

Yet another "wrong time - wrong place" situation. :(

Two riders were killed near to where I live a couple of months ago, each one going in the opposite direction!

The coroners report was in my local paper last weekend. Bad 90 degree, blind bend, rider A comes into bend a tad to fast and drifts out wide on the exit.

Meanwhile two transit vans are heading towards him, with rider B behind them.

Both transit vans then have to swerve to avoid hitting rider A.

Sadly, rider B had no idea why the two vans suddenly swerved, resulting in the two riders hitting each other head one.

Both guys were killed instantly, terrible, terrible accident. :(

RIP to all these guys.

Brings it home how vulnerable we really are…… :(

My prayers are for his family and friends.

I was stuck in the Manchester-bound congestion that this accident created. I was muttering and cursing as I had to filter through near-stationary traffic all the way from Warrington.

When I reached the accident site and saw that poor guy's bike standing in the middle of the closed carriageway with his helmet on the hard shoulder it really opened my eyes: there are far far worse things than being cold and late for work. Poor guy :(

It's all a little close to home isnt it. There but for the grace of God go any of us.

I'm filled with grief for the poor guy's family and should the story be true, a deep anger towards the driver who with no thought for others created this situation. Not sure how anyone could live with the thought that they did this.
