Could someone verify if there is a fix for a loose topbox? As I have been waiting 6 months for BM to come back to the dealer with an answer.

Cheers.

No

What BMW Germany told BMW New Zealand is bolt the box on

BMW does not care at all. It will take some one to be killed before they will do any fix.

Prestige mentioned putting on some of those sticky cushioned pads...

This truely is a ridiculous scenario - BMW do not want to admit that the Topbox BOUNCES .... BUT they are selling/supplying a kit (with part # , unfortunately not at hand) to bolt the box on. One of the advantages of such luggage is the removal option. I am pleased to be waiting for the ADV with TT luggage!

When my top box became a little loose (it never got anywhere near falling off) my dealer instantly gave me a new one - which has not shown the same problem so far.

If you're really not happy with it, demand a refund, if it can't stay on the bike it's clearly not fit for the purpose it was sold for.

Mine has developed the hair-line crack next to the latch and there is now a small amount of lateral movement.

I mentioned this at my last service (last week) and my dealer (Pidcocks) offered to replace it or wait on the supposed modified case/base plate that BMW are working on. I elected to keep mine for the mo. with the option to change it if it gets worse and ultimatley replace with the modified one when/if it ever materialises.

FWIW mine was the third complaint in so many weeks at Pidcocks but, prior to that, they said that none had been returned.
