BMW 1150ADV Foglight Wiring

Before I go trawling through the wiring loom and fusebox (or ghod forbid, read the manuals) can anyone tell me if the BWM foglights on the 1150ADV are wired through a relay so that I could reuse their wiring to connect a pair of Hella Micro DEs on a MiGSel lightbar in their place?

Since it's a couple of H1(?) bulbs in the BWM fogs I think that it is must be possible, but always worth asking before I spend a happy hour working it out myself.

I have to get rid of the damn things, every time I put the cover on and off the bike the lights move. And they are about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Just rewire the existing loom to your new lights

Mine had those lovely lights fitted when I got it and as mentioned about as powerfull as a candle.

I just cut the cables and then soldered new cables to it for the Hella's and works a treat, can get some nice heatshrink from Maplins that seals itself when hot as well so a little better than standard stuff.

And since then never blown a single bulb, unlike that so called sealed units that were there before
