Does anybody have the url to download the entire 2008 accessories catalogue?

The BMW site version is just awful, tiny little pages, you have to visit another site to view them full size and tough if you haven't had the foresight to open the index in another window first.

The BMW website helpfully informs you that you can "Click here to explore or download our full motorcycle accessories brochure" but despite this I can see no way of actually downloading the full brochure.

"If you have speakers connected to your computer, you can even hear the sound of the turning pages" Now that's what I call usability!:rolleyes:

I suppose it is at least consistent with the rest of their god-awful website!

So, my question is, has anybody found a link, or a way to download the full brochure?

Ditto, I've been looking all over for the catalogue.

It looks to me like the same team that came up with the idea of the antenna-keys worked on the web site...

I've figured out how to get it.

If anybody here runs Linux, this is how....

When you click the "PDF view of this page" link you are taken to www2.satzmedia.com, which serves the pdf pages one by one.

So Page 30 of the brochure becomes http://www2.satzmedia-catalog.com/asp/_543/flash/pdfs/030.pdf

therefore, using a little Linux command line magic I can grab every page with the following

for X in {1..130}; do printf -v Y %03d $X; wget http://www2.satzmedia-catalog.com/asp/_543/flash/pdfs/$Y.pdf; done

this will suck down the catalogue pages one by one, creating files named 001.pdf through 130.pdf (actually there are 123 or 124 pages, but it's not a problem) then, using Adobe Acrobat I can concatenate the pages into one huge pdf file.

... for those of you poor schmucks running Windoze I'm afraid there's no easy way to do it AFAIK :(

If you've actually done that, perhaps you could share the PDF with us?

Up to you, as they say in Thailand...

Cheers,

S. (on Windows)

Not sure whether I can without incurring the wrath of BMW

What is also interesting...

...is the catalogue that shows all the public service (police, paramedic etc.) accessories.

I have only ever seen it on a dealer's computer, and that was some years ago.

They have pannier and engine crash bars for the R1***RT series and superb rear mudflaps. I have used the larger mudflaps on my last three tourers -K75, R1100RT and an FJR 1300.

well that's what I figured, but some companies can be very touchy about re-distribution

Christ, the only reason I'm interested is so I can BUY something from BMW. It's not as if I'm going to copy, clone, resell, or re-engineer it!

Thanks much.

S.
