Hi Y'all..Can the locks be changed out to suit a new key without the old key??

I have sold my panniers, but had already sold the bike and the dealer is saying to the gent that bought them that the locks can't be re-coded now.

Yes, I know I screwed up  I am trying to track down the new owner of my old bike so I can arrange something i.e. take my panniers to a dealer with him so knows his key isn't copied and they can have the barrels out or something...failing that am I cream crackered!!!!

Any help for this numpty appreciated.

bump...

Found another thread that suggests a small hole behind the locks that when wire/paper clip inserted allows the barrels to be removed, another suggesting a small swiss army knife

Anyone tried either of these??

Pilot,

It is easily accessed when in the open position (if it isn't open, therefore locked you will need a new entire unit). Place knife in lock, place small item mentioned before in the small hole behind lock(i.e paperclip) and then tug gently on the barrel, it will pop out.

It has been known to be able to open the lock with a swiss army knife also.

Hope it helps, I've done it 3 or 4 times.

Nick
