I`ve just read a blurb about BMW and KTM being in close collaboration over research and development of protectve kit for off road riders....particularly high speed off roaders ( hmm...anything to do with Dakar and HP2/950`s ?? ).
There was mention of 'bio-meds' and particular research into spinal and lumbar injury.
They`ve come up with something that`s a bit like a cross between MX body armour and the stuff worn by ice hockey or American football players.
I must admit that the front of it looks more of a hazard than a help.
