I have the BMW comfort seat on my bike, but got to say its not the most comfy seat at all. In fact I also have a std GSA seat with is better. I find using no stretch clothing works best as when you 'sink' into the seat, if its stretch, it tends to pull your skin with it meaning lots of lifting off the seat to relieve the prussure.

Also, take care what you put on it. I put my waxed coat on the seat for a week, only to find it had reacted with the seat cover when I used it next so neede to buy a new seat!

I have a low comfort seat, brand new but would like to try a standard seat. Anyone wanting a swap to go the other way?..... (Must be mint BMW Comfort seat)

Seats are a very subjective thing. What works for one won't work for another. Have you thought about trying a Sergeant seat ?

Yes, have a Sargent and find hi front, low back works on that ok, but I cant get the rear seat on the forward setting with it which is annoying. It's a bit better being wider and if used with my leathers as good as it gets.

I've just bought the standard BMW seats, but in blue. And wondered how easy the rear will mark after a few weeks of the BMW roll bag sitting on it. I find the standard seat with a Alaska Buttpad fitted is best for me. But as has been said, its very personal choice.

yes, I know someone who has a sheep skin one of those, said it works well...

Sheep skin i use today, is the same one i bought for my Africa trip in 2008, on my 1150, and its still brilliant. No need for and beads or blow up. The sheep skin is the king.

I have a bmw comfort seat and find it much better than the standard but we are built differently

Indead we are. I find the bog std seat the best, but just wanted to get a Comfort seat as thats what the bike came with. Against the std seat, my comfort one was always harder somehow. That said, I've put over 100K on R100RS's and they have about 1" of foam if you're lucky... but never got on with the GS seats other than my twin cam one?

I did think the comfort seat had a gel pad in it, but its just foam like the rest?

I have a gs 1250 rallye te seat as new need a low seat pm me

I have the “comfort seat” on my 1250 which I bought just before lockdown so only done about 500miles, it’s nowhere as comfortable as the std seat I had on my 1200.

That's what I find also. The std seat is much better IMO.

Just so its clear (I've used Std for two things).. what I'm wanting is a comfort seat in std height... I can swap a comfort seat in low height for it. Thanks...

17000 miles on my R1250GS with a comfort seat. Can't think of a more comfortable bike, and I only got a comfort seat because I bought a model from stock.

I have the low seat, best seat I ever had. Better than the Sargent. Weird.

Had Wunderlich low,air cushion, Now on Touratech low with cool cover and sheepskin on top. Works for me.

I tried a sheep skin. It got wet and took days to dry out. Never again..

Real sheep skin. If it gets wet. Click the quick release tabs. Take off. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Replace. Bone dry.
