Having technical problem with the pics of my foam fix for the Enduro Helmet peak. :o

Imaybelost, you need to be a site sponsor to post pictures. There is a link at the top of the page or click here. :)

Also, you may find this "How to post pics" thread by MasterDabber to be helpful. :thumb

....the thing I like about the peak on the Enduro is that if you get a gust of wind it doesn't throw your head back like on the TourX!

You do have to fit it onto your head properly as it does tend to fold your ears over when you put it on

Thank heavens its not just me. After pulling the helmet on, you then have to stick your fingers up the side and unfold your ears. Its a pain in the neck, but I guess thats what you get in a Italian helmet.

:D Yup, that's exactly what I have to do! sometimes, and only sometimes, do I get it right and don't bend my ears, but 99.9% of the time it happens

It's a nice lid though :thumb

So I got myself a nice Tour X.

The good thing is that you can buy different pads for them.

I've got an XL which was very slightly too big,so I replaced the standard cheek pads with some slighty thicker ones and it now fits superbly.

Ooh I didn't know that. I tried on a Tour X yesterday and had exactily the same thing. L was too tight XL was perfect around the head but could have been a tad tighter on the cheeks.
I'll have another look in that case :thumb2

I heard scare stories of visor scratching in the open position.
So I stuck some foam undr the peak at the potential contact points
used the packing that u get on packs of CD/DVDs stuck on with double sided tape (Cant do picccies as I'm in Dublin at mo)

had no problems with comfort

Visor vibrations cured by dropping the screen slightly

so far so good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered a BMW Enduro helmet the day they were launched. Tried it on and it fitted great. When i recently got my R1200GS I did notice vibrations but just put the screen back in the more upright position it had been set to by the dealers and vibrations dissapeared. It is a neat fit and easy to catch ears. I got DIY Ear Plugs and find it hard to get the helmet off and keep hold of my ear plugs. However it is great with them properly on. Peak is great for sun and no problems with the visor at all. I did have a Starcom boom mike and headset to use ordinary headphones but ended up taking it out as the cables just made the helmet even tighter for getting on and off. Have external speakers to listen to at lower speeds and pretty much peace and quiet at higher speeds. No wind noise and a nice light helmet compared to my System 4.

Buoght Beemer Enduro and found the locking mechanism on the chin strap dug into the side of my chin something awful so got it swapped out. Also found that with an intercom head set I couldnd find anything that would stivk to the lining at the front end for my mouthpiece.
My dealer let me test ride with the helmets on, didnt notice the pain but was fine with the wind behind a GSA screen.

Replaced with Mat black beemer full face (cant remember the name!!) superb quiet with place for earpieces superb bit of kit.

I guess you pays yer money and takes your choice:beerjug:

ive had the bmw enduro helm for quite a while, and found it very good.Comfy and not too bad with wind noise, excellent vision for life saver checks...good on and off-road.

But,you must have the peak fully pulled back/up,when using the helmet visor and helmet peak setup, otherwise it wears a strip into the centre of the visor if you have it in its stowed position.

Also found that it is worth putting some bodge tape over the retaining screws that hold the visor/peak on......its not cheap when a screw vibrates out.

I have the BM Enduro and It hurt like buggery at first after about 15 mins. I'm now up to almost an hour (my ride to work) before pain sets in. Hopefully this will eventually bed in completely and get as comfy as my sport integral is (I'm not chucking it away yet)
The PEAKdoes indeed cause awfull high frequency vibes that spoil even great rides. I've done the rubber washer thing, (though I used O rings) and that works a bit, so i'm about to try to dampen the remaining vibes in the visor itself by plodding up the concave spaces in the visor with something like blutac. There is some stuff called DUMDUM that car mechanics use to reduce vibration noise between body panels but I don't know where to get any. I'll report back if this makes any usefull improvement.
Having said all that I bought the BM over the Arai on cost because I got a new 06 model from Rydale on Ebay for £200. I kinda wish I'd bought the Arai but of course it's all money isn't it?
On the plus side, the lid looks well cool, and the visor doesn't mist up even at lights (I ride in London every day) and peripheral vision (and for rear obs) is superb

My BMW Enduro helmet was one of the very first ones sold and I have to admit I have no problems with vibs in the peak or the visor getting marked by the Peak, whatever position it is in. I find that even at cruising speeds I can sit happily with the visor still up and the peak in lowest position and not suffer any problems with vibrations. I only tend to use the visor if it starts raining. Love the helmet but it is a neat fit and not easy to get on and off.

mine nearly rips me ears each time i take it off...........lol sussed it now, i pull the straps outwards when i take it off.......once on its a really comfy lid to wear.........took a bit to get use to it and had to mess about with the peak to get it in the best place for me..............but i love it now...brill visor in it...see loads more when u do a life saver...................:thumb2
