I fancy a pair of BMW GS gloves for the summer. Just wondered if anyone has experiance with these.

I bought a pair earlier this year, they were great in the summer and one bonus with them was they dry out really fast in a rain storm.

One bad mark was the cost, they turned out so popular that after she tried them I had to buy the wife a pair too....;)

Understatement of the decade Bob, they are de rigeur, uniform of the cloned ones, stand by for many, many, many reposnses. If you are lucky someone will give you a detailed response, the rest got them, well cos they had too  Read on... :thumb

I can recommend Held gloves, have got 2 pairs, thin ones for the summer, slightly less thin with Goretex for the winter.

Fit like, err, gloves!

Shug

Won mine in the Princetown raffle, haven't used them yet -

was using the heine & derrick tourag gloves - ideal for summer

I got mine in July and wore them on a one month August tour all round Europe. In total , 7,000km.

I can highly recommend them. They did seem a little tight at first but then bedded in well and i reckon they're actually reasonable value for money compared with Dainese etc.

They're not waterproof but they're not advertised as such.

All round a good choice.

Bloody expensive @ £45 or thereabouts................you'll get a better made pair of pukka Moto-X gloves for less than that and they're the REAL thing for off-road riding............not bloody BMW imitations of pukka dirt clothing.

Controversial...........too bloody right

I have a couple of pairs of MX gloves that I use off-road and have used on-road in the summer. I really want a pair that give more protection than the MX gloves for road use but, still the same level of breathability if possible.

Thumbs up for the GS gloves from me!

The GS gloves I've seen in the catalogue look a bit short to me, with cuffs not going over leathers, is this correct, or are they longer than they look??

I've worn MX gloves for a couple of years, through the summer.

I was looking to replace them with some GS gloves, but saw some Alpinestars SMX gloves & got them instead. Similar design & made for supermoto racing so more geared towards road work than pure MX gloves with slightly longer cuffs.

Wear all year around

I have had mine for 2 years now and love them for around town. Anything more than that is possible with the Heated grips at this time of year or with hand bar muffs

The reinforced knuckles work well on transit mirrors.

Overall a good lightwieght glove which are coming to the end of their life as they are old. However I won another set at Princetown so I am covered for another 2 years.

(And ignore judge he is one of those bitter types who likes to buck trends)

So good i've got two pairs, wear em year round and, as Nick says, the built in knuckle dusters are the biz!!!
