BMW GS Meeting in Finland 12.-14.6.2009

The Third International BMW GS Meeting will be held 12-14.6.2009 in Koskenpää Rantapirtti Finland.

The event is a chance to meet like-minded GS-riders, ride around in Finnish beautiful scenery enjoying marvelous gravel roads, spend the weekend with friends, and soul-mates and relax together.
Some of the ready made routes go the same gravel roads as Neste Oil Rally.

It is best to ride through Sweden ( and maybe even Norway and Finnish Lappland )

You can take a ferry from Stockholm to Turku.
Then its only 283 km to the Meeting place from Turku

Sorry, I am not coming to Holland or Belgium at Easter.

I think best route from UK is to take a ferry to Sweden. Then ride to Stockholm and take a ferry to Turku in Finland.

There will be an enduro training course on Friday 12.6.2008 in Koskenpää.
It starts at 12.00 a'clock. However this is extra with extra price.
If you arrive untill 21.00 a'clock on Friday, that's OK, if you are not attending the enduro training.

We have millions of them in June just in Koskenpää.

Yes I have met many of these mosquitos, I lived, they didn't.....
I'll need to check the dates a bit closer to the time, but I would like a visit to Finland including your GS Rally.
I have some good friends in Jamsa, one of which is involved with the Riverside Motorcycle Club. His name is Arvi Niiranen.
I reckon the UK riders would need to leave on Tuesday 9th, Newcastle to Gottenburg, then ride across Sweden and then take the 'truck ferry' which I believe runs over night from near Stockholm to Turku, it has a cabin and food included in the reasonable price. I'll need to talk to my Finnish pals to get the details again.
Another possible route is Newcastle to Esbjerg, and then ride over the Denmark-Sweden bridge (16km).
