GS1s are so last year :D

I got a pair of GS2s for xmas. Have only used them a couple of times so they haven't really broken in yet, but I like them so far. I think they afford a great deal of protection, but at the expense of some lack of feeling. For example I find it awkward to use the rear brake effectively.

I only use them for green laning, I don't think I'd want to use them for normal road riding even when properly broken in, my normal Oxtar road boots have a lot more feeling but not nearly as much protection.

Not waterproof either, when I'm laning I wear waterproof socks.

No....only to be worn by Imperial storm troopers!!

They're the feckin' business - look mean even off the bike and do the job on the bike - I've tested mine with a big off in rocky stuff and tangling with bike etc - not a scratch on me.

They wear well once worn in if you see what I mean. They are tight on my (muscular hah!) calves and I can fit Rallye II trousers inside but not Aerostich suit which is very heavy duty around lower legs (for good reason).

Beware the small screws holding the fastenings may come loose. And they're £16 a set ie 4 screws!!!

Also suitable for certain dodgy West End clubs ...a friend told me - honest!!

I have 'em - Very happy!

One thing I did right away was take those ankle joint screws apart and dob some Vaseline between the plastic pivot surfaces. Sorted an annoying squeak- been quiet for two months since.

Call me crazy but I use the GS-1's almost every day. I even had them on for a track day recently. Oh- It helped a lot to move my shifter up one spline for more room. Yes you lose some feel and the rear brake is a bit harder to modulate.

Thumbs up on the look. Yeah I get guys asking me when the UFO is coming to pick me up, and the GS-1 can be quite handy in the dodgy bars of West Los Angeles.

Why am I not surprised that someone who would wear these boots would also need Vaseline.

I got a pair of these boots and im really pleased with them.As others have said grease the joint,i used silicone grease(not in any way shape or form stolen from the fitters cupboard at work i should mention.......but i'm not sure how i came to be in possesion of it)They are really comfy...HONEST but sadly not waterproof so get a pair of sealskins.......Hmmmmm a BMW product i'm pleased with ......................I'm going soft!
