Up the clough on number nine nail..
On the way down to morocco thro france and spain i noticed oil pissing from rear drive shaft gaiter ,so rang the number on the reverse of the bmw key fob and they simply asked if i was in a safe location and that they would do the rest ! ,luckily i had just stoped at a hotel in barcelona .I couldnt believe it when they picked up the bike within one hour and booked taxis and arranged free accomadation at a better hotel by the sea with free hire car etc ,the works for two days all for zilch .Now that was awesome service ,special thanks to Joe at the international dept ,cheers mate.Anyone had similar experiences i was astounded !

Yep Similar experience in the South of France a couple of years ago, SHMBO's R1200GS was constantly showing ABS warning light. Phoned UK Help Desk, "Sorry sir the person on the International desk is busy can we have your number and we'll phone you back". Well they did five ten miutes later, took the details, and said we'll get back to you when we can get somebody to you. Twenty miutes later the guy himself phoned and said he was there to see me and could I come down to the bike. As it turned out it was minor but non the less for piece of mind they were there when needed, and it was a mechanic who knew about bikes, not just a rep.

I was well impressed. :clap

Hey Onahi2002 ,

a lot of people dont realise that this level of assistance is included free with your bikes warranty ,in fact on my trip i spent £100 on a RAC european breakdown cover for my 1150 adv that as you can see is clearly not needed ,just make sure yer bikes within the 3 year warranty period ! incidently the oil leak turned out to be a minor problem and mainly due to the heat and the result of 110 mph fully laden cruisin for 600 miles ,stilll it was better to be safe eh...

BMW assistance

Must say in reply that the BMW assistance used in Spain last year was fantastic. Picked up after a crash, Taxis and flown home.
Wish I could say the same about the dealerships.
Best person to work on a BMW I know is Brian Giles of BGM in Pembury, Kent.
