Anyone got one of these? Know of any for sale? had any experience with them? I love the look, but think I'd miss the gs weather protection on my daily winter commute!!!!

35k km service cost on the K1200 will shatter your bank balance, make sure you check this out if buying one, talking from experience

Christ lad, if it would shatter your bank balance it would blow the hole out of mine! How much are you talking?

729 euro, not including tyres, they gave me free coffee and let me off the 29 euro, and before you ask, this was a regular 35k service, nothing special added

Reluctantly paid up, walked out the shop after telling them I would post the above information on every relevant forum, haven't stopped since

K1200R

Regret selling mine ,great bike no problems at all an cheaper to service than a GS as no heads to remove each service but big mile services are expensive but what isn't,if you buy one make sure it's had the BMW cam chain modification done to stop the cam chain rattle ,great to tour/commute/hassle and comfy too :thumb2

Forgot to mention the ongoing major rattle in the engine, had to replace the cam chain and sprockets, clutch and baskets too, all between 35k and 45km from what I remember, dumped the bike at this stage, getting too costly to keep, if you intend to do high mileage this bike will cost big time, the bike was never screwed or abused and regularly serviced

That sounds a lot but BMW pads and such like are dear. I'd like to see a brakedown of what you actually payed for. Did you not have any inkling of the bill? I have a 12rt and feel that a car would be cheaper to run but Patrick in duffys always looks after me and Mark in platinum is brill. He is the only person I know that gives an estimate and then comes in cheaper. JJH

As I stated below

this was a regular 35k service, nothing special added

Handed over the receipts and all servicing information when the bike was serviced
Must have included at least
Brake pads
Engine Oil and oil filter
Valve clearances which involved removing part of the fairing
Air filter
Necessary seals and gaskets

Like I said above this was a TYPICAL 35k service, the labour cost from what I remember was at around 100 euro per hour before VAT :blast
