Just ordered a new GSA and as I can have a few weeks between rides, I like to have the charger hooked up. Can anyone that has got the BMW charger that plugs straight into the outlet confirm if it keeps topping up or just switches off after reaching 100%?

My last GSA used to go flat within two weeks with the alarm on, so I expect this one to be similar.

Just wire it straight to neg on battery and jump start positive using optimate standard cabling. Bypass canbus stuff.

BMW Charger works fine into the socket. Keeps the bike charged nicely but not the Nav 5, you need to take that off and charge it separately.

The BMW charger will switch on and off automatically, so it does not constantly charge the battery. I just plug it in to my 2016 GS. No special sequence or anything, just plug it in.
If you have the Nav 5, remove it and turn it off completely, then replace.

If you want to save money, as already said wire a socket direct to the battery and use a charger of your choice. I like the Oxford 900 as this will also only charge when required and switches off when not needed.
