please excuse my ignorence in all electronic computory gizmos, i cant even work a digital watch ffs.
i have a bmw nav 1v that came with the bike.
it claims to have fourty countries loaded as standard but i cant find a list
of which countries they are, obviously western europe, but im planning
to go to eastern europe this summer, through poland to the ukraine and moldova, back through czeck republic and slovakia and may dip into romania.
could do with knowing if these countries are in the unit.
next question, if i buy additional maps on sd card from garmin is it just a case
of putting them into the machine and off i go or is there some daft computer
wizardry required?
i wont be doing any route planning or anything like that , tend to have a direction of travel, look at a map then plug in a few names on the sat nav
to save constantly looking down at the map.
thanks, paul.

Simple - just go to the map and start scrolling / zooming. You'll soon find out what's in there and what's not.

You'll probably have to go through the process of 'unlocking' them for the particular unit that you have, to make sure you didn't copy them off a mate or download them from somewhere. I'm not sure how this would work exactly if you're buying them on an SD card, but as you're officially buying them just ask Garmin how to install them, if they don't already come with instructions.

sd cards

thanks for the reply,
i had a brain wave, it hurt! it seems the countries i need are in the unit,
just not sure of the amount of detail.
i just put in some names of places from a map and the unit found them
