Can anyone tell me if the BMW Nav II bike mount with the extra buttons on the left will function with the Garmin 2610 unit?

I thought I had seen it somewhere that it didn't.

A friend has been sold one by the local dealer for his Garmin and can't get it to work. The dealer says it's a software problem. Apparently it's £100 more expensive than the Garmin mount.

I was told (when I bought mine) that the cradle was 'keyed' to a particular GPSR unit - in much the same way as the software is - so that it'll only work with the unit it was sold with.

However, someone recently advertised a Nav II cradle for sale on this site and, when I PMed him to ask, he assured me that it would work with any 2610...

So I don't really know, but I'd like to find out...

Mike:)

The 'english ' text version has an in use version and the mount parts look familar , read on http://www.perfectpilot.nl/html/in_use.html

A further trawl finds a mounting section which adds on this link
http://www.perfectpilot.nl/html/mounting.html

"The Perfect Cradle mounts on the Garmin motorbike bracket. From end June 2004 (expected) there will also be a mount for the RAM and TouraTech bracket.

On The Garmin Bracket the Perfect Cradle uses the same four screws so no extra effort is needed. The ‘RED’ uses the same power/audio cable.

For the Perfect Cradle Blue an extra cable is needed.

At later stage we will publish pictures of the Perfect Pilot, mounted on several different bikes.

So if you need some help ...
